In the month of April, all District 54 schools will participate in the first annual community service event.  District 54 will be supporting the American Cancer Society by fundraising money to make a difference for families. The American Cancer Society strives to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families. They help ensure everyone has the opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. With the help of your donations, the lives of families and patients can be drastically improved.  

 

How can you donate?  Starting Monday, April 14 through Friday, May 2, we will be fundraising for the American Cancer Society. There are three ways you can donate money:

  • Mead’s Silent Auction benefiting the American Cancer Society is now open! Please use the link to browse the 16 wonderful items available. The items range from a Mead basket to being principal for the day to a suite at the Boomers game! The auction closes on May 2, 2025. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to get some great items while supporting an important cause! Here is the LINK

  • Online by clicking HERE. 

  • Checks made out to “School District 54” placed in a sealed envelope and turned into the main office with the attached donation form. Cash and check can be placed in a sealed envelope and turned in to the main office with the attached form.

  • Please note that we ask that students do not go door to door asking for money.  Any student donations will be collected through fundraising events that we will host during the school day at Mead!

 

How can you participate?  The community is invited to join us for any or all of the upcoming Charity Walk events:

  • Friday, April 11: Charity Walk Kick-Off Assembly 1:30-2:15 pm in the Mead gym

  • Monday, April 14-Friday, May 2: Support your student starting Monday, April 14 as they donate to our fundraising events at school ending on Friday, May 2.  

  • Friday, May 9: Charity Walk from 12:00-2:00 pm in the west field near Mead (weather permitting)

  • Thank you to our wonderful Mead PTA who has purchased student-designed Charity Walk t-shirts for each student!  Each student will receive their t-shirt to wear for our May 9 Charity Walk event!
