We look forward to connecting with you at our parent-teacher conferences this week. We have included information below for this week’s events.
The Mead Giving Tree is back and has over 35 families in need of your support. The Giving Tree is a project Mead runs to support families with financial needs during the holidays. Community members are invited to participate at their discretion. When you come for conferences this week, you will see our Giving Tree up in the main office. If you’d like to participate, simply take an ornament off the Giving Tree—there is no limit to the number of ornaments/students you’d like to support. When taking ornaments, we also ask that you check in with our front office staff and get the list for the student. Gifts need to be turned in to the office by December 12. On our website, you can also make monetary donations through the Mead School Store. We will use these funds for families who may not have their ornament selected and/or to purchase supplemental gifts. If you have questions regarding the Giving Tree process, connect with Miss Falvo, Mrs. Szklennik, or Ms. Perales or talk to our front office staff when you arrive to conferences this week.
Mead Spirit Wear: Reminder that you can purchase Mead spirit wear through our brand-new Mead Spirit Wear Online Store. To order please click on this LINK or visit the Mead homepage at www.sd54.org/mead to select your items and make your purchases. The store will close on November 22 at midnight.
Fall Conferences are this week on Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. Our goal for conferences is to increase our collaborative relationship between home and school with the common goal of ensuring your student’s success. That being said, if your student is demonstrating success in any of their classes, there may not be a need for you to schedule a conference with that particular teacher. Because our teachers have limited availability, it is not required that you sign up for conferences—only if you determine there is a need for your student. If you requested a Zoom conference, you should have already received an email from your teacher with their personal Zoom link. If you unable to sign up for a conference with a particular teacher, then you can email the teacher and they will reach out to you to update you on your student’s progress. Please note that teachers will have full schedules and will not be available for “drop-in” conferences on Monday or Tuesday.
