Mead PARCC Testing 4/19-4/26

PARCC testing at Mead will begin on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 and will conclude by April 28. During this testing window, we will be running a modified schedule on testing days. The PARRC testing schedule can be viewed here. This year students will complete testing on the Chromebooks. Please remind your student to charge his or her Chromebook each night to ensure that it is ready for testing. Students should also bring earbuds to school during testing as some portions of the test require short videos to be viewed. In the meantime, we ask that you are considerate of these dates in the scheduling of appointments for your children during the school day.
Here are a few thoughts for helping our students do their best on the test:

  • Get a good night’s sleep. Students should get 8-10 hours of sleep each night.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast.
  • Students should bring a book with them. Once they have completed the test they will be allowed to read while until testing is completed.
  • Eighth grade students should bring their calculator (scientific, non-graphing) with them for the last three days of testing.  Four function calculators will be provided to the seventh grade students.

We know our students have been well prepared and we are confident they will perform well on these state assessments.
