PBIS Focus Skill for the Week of 5/14/2012

We have a little more than two more weeks left until our final PBIS celebration assembly! We will continue to acknowledge students for arriving to class prepared with all necessary materials. Be sure to have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

PBIS Parent Tip #20: All library books will be due next week. Be sure to have a conversation with your child to ensure he/she returns all checked-out materials on time.

We made it through MAP testing! As we approach the final month of school, we are going to continue to acknowledge students for coming to class prepared. Our hope is that this will help our students end the school year on a positive note. Please be sure to have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

PBIS Parent Tip #19: With the weather becoming warmer, please remember that appropriate clothing should be conducive to learn­ing and compatible with a productive educa­tional environment.

As we close out April and head into May, we will continue to acknowledge students for arriving to class prepared. An important element of being prepared for class is having homework completed the day it is due. Please have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

PBIS Parent Tip #18: This week your child will be taking his/her Math MAP test. Please talk with your child about what day they are testing, so he/she can get a good night sleep, eat a good breakfast, and feel prepared for the test.

This week we will continue to acknowledge students for arriving to class prepared. However, we will also be acknowledging students for being respectful and responsible during the next two weeks of MAP testing. Please be sure to have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

PBIS Parent Tip #17: For the next 2 weeks, your child will take both the reading and math MAP tests. Please talk with your child about what day he/she is testing to ensure he/she gets a good night sleep and a good breakfast for each test!

This week we will continue to acknowledge students for arriving to class prepared with all necessary materials. Each of your child’s classrooms has a poster with what materials he/she is expected to bring. Please have a conversation with your child about being prepared for class and PBIS!

Parent Tip #16: As the reading MAP test will be given next week, please make sure that your child is reading at least 20 minutes per night.

PBIS Parent Tip #15: Please make sure your child is prepared for all classes by ensuring they have writing utensils and their assignment notebook.

We hope that everyone had a safe and relaxing break! For 3rd trimester, we are going to be focusing on ensuring students are prepared for class. Over the next few weeks, students will be acknowledged for having all necessary materials in all classes. Please have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

Parent Tip # 14: As your child is going through his/her classes this week, he/she should become aware of any items that he/she may be missing. Please have a conversation with your child to make sure they have all necessary items. Assignments notebooks may be purchased in the library for $5.

PBIS Focus Skill for the week of 3/19/2012

For 3rd trimester, we are going to be acknowledging students for coming to class prepared with all necessary materials. Over the next few weeks, the students will be told in each of their classes what they are expected to bring in order to be considered prepared for class. Please be sure to have a conversation with your child about PBIS and about how he/she can be prepared for class.

Parent Tip #13: The students will be having a locker clean out this week in Advocacy. Please be sure to ask your child after the locker clean out if they need any basic items like pens, pencils, paper, etc.

As we wrap up ISAT week, we will continue to acknowledge students for demonstrating respectful and compliant behavior. The students are doing a great job of displaying this behavior during the test and throughout the school day. Be sure to have a conversation with your child about PBIS!

Parent Tip #12: Please continue to make sure your child is prepared for the ISAT by making sure they have pencils, erasers, that they are getting a good night sleep and eating a good breakfast the morning of the test.

Parent Tip #11: Help make your child feel prepared for the ISAT test. Make sure they have pencils, erasers, and a positive outlook on the test!
